About Nicole
Artist. Muralist. Former Special Education Teacher.
I’m Nicole Ormsby, an artist and muralist based in Kure Beach, North Carolina. I create vibrant, personalized artwork that transforms ordinary walls into meaningful spaces.
My murals are designed around each client’s story, location, personality, and vision. Whether I am painting for a business, restaurant, community organization, or private property, my goal is to create something memorable—art that feels as though it truly belongs in that space.
My Journey as an Artist
Art has always been a way for me to explore beauty, emotion, color,
and connection. My work combines painterly realism with bold color
and imagination. I am especially drawn to coastal scenes, nature,
people, and artwork that creates a sense of joy and wonder.
Before focusing more fully on my art, I worked as a special education
teacher. That experience continues to influence who I am, how I
connect with people, and what I hope my artwork contributes to the
world.
I believe art should be welcoming, expressive, and deeply personal.
Every mural begins with listening. I want to understand what matters to
the client and create artwork that represents their business, community, memories, or ideas.
Art With a Greater Purpose
My background as both an artist and a former special education teacher also inspired me to establish Painted Beauty, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to art without barriers.
Painted Beauty is being developed to create opportunities for artists with disabilities to experience uninhibited self-expression in an accessible, supportive environment. My interest is not in telling someone what their art should look like. I want to see what they have inside them—what they can create when physical, social, and perceived limitations no longer define the experience.
As Murals By Nicole grows, it is also intended to help support and bring awareness to the mission of Painted Beauty. Through color, creativity, and community connection, both organizations share the belief that art has the power to transform more than a wall.
Let’s Create Something Meaningful
Every blank wall holds an opportunity. Together, we can create a mural that tells your story, reflects your space, and gives people something to remember.
